Who in the world describes books as food?

My name is Tara…

In spite of my age, part of me has always identified somewhat with Peter Pan, and I have an imagination that rivals Anne Shirley’s. Perhaps this is why my sister and I began, one day, to apply descriptions of food to books. We wanted a way to discuss exactly what we meant about books we were reading.. a way that would capture their authenticity (or lack of it!) and a system that we could use to describe the variety of writing out there.. from cotton candy to main dishes, and then some!

While it may be an odd sort of habit to describe books as food, it just seems to fit. Candy, potato chips, spaghetti… use your imagination. This idea, combined with a quote from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, inspired the making of this blog. Enjoy!
