Nicole, by Sarah Monzon

Nicole, I *think*, is my favorite so far in Sarah Monzon’s Sewing in SoCal series (it’s book #3) — although it’s really so hard to say! This strikes me as funny because when I was introduced to Nicole in Molly, I found her a little obnoxious. But I think it was just because I’d not had the opportunity to get to know her yet.

Now that I actually know Nicole (okay, yeah, so I tend to think of book characters as real people..), I love her. I think we’d be really good friends. (Maaaaaybe I could even join the sewing circle?!) I’d still roll my eyes at her sometimes, but close friends can do that, right?

Nicole’s got a lot of history (read: baggage) that she’s dealing with, and basically she thinks that, along with her size, makes her undesirable. She has kept a very sweet heart in spite of what she’s been through, and it’s a joy to watch as she grows and realizes that it’s okay to open her heart.

It was fun meeting Drew again and getting to know him after the little appearances and interactions he had in the first two books of this series… especially seeing his personality really show through.

This book was excellently written, and thoroughly enjoyable. One of my personal favorite parts was the planetarium scene.. partially because I’ve always had a thing for those, and probably mostly because it was super sweet.

As for a food.. for Nicole, let’s go with a salad.. like that Fuji Apple Salad that Panera has (I’d prefer to order it with the chicken but Nicole would have them leave it off). I chose this because it’s enough to be a whole meal, while still being light. It’s got sweetness but in an overwhelming way.

Get your copy here! I highly recommend it — and if you haven’t read the first two books, Molly and Jocelyn, grab those while you’re at it! You’ll want to read them in order to get the most enjoyment out of them.

*Huge thank you to Sarah Monzon for an ARC to review!
